Singapore sees pet abandonment cases soar this year

The rising costs of pet care due to inflation in Singapore have led to a significant increase in abandoned pets, according to Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS), a government-run agency.  Despite the risk of imprisonment and hefty fines of up to US$8,000, hundreds of pets were left behind by owners in the city-state last year.
